Flavored with real peppermint oil and hand-pulled just as it has been for generations, this candy cane is a sweet piece of Swedish history.

Every stick is twisted by hand and wrapped with care, giving you that perfect balance of sweetness and refreshing peppermint. It is the same recipe that made the polkagris famous back in the 1800s and it still tastes just as magical today.

Since June 2022, authentic Gränna polkagris has been protected by the European Union with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), the same status given to Champagne, Parma ham and other iconic products. This means that the true polkagris can only be made in Gränna, ensuring its unique heritage and quality.

What is a polkagris (candy cane)?

Are your candy canes handmade?

Yes, our polkagrisar are carefully crafted by hand, following traditional methods with some modern twists. This ensures each candy cane has the authentic texture, taste, and look that has made them famous since the 1800s.
How is it packaged?

Your order comes in a shipping box.Each cane is wrapped in 2 layers of different paper. Because we don’t coat our candy canes with glaze or coating, the food-safe inner paper sometimes sticks a little. This is normal and part of the traditional recipe, completely safe to eat.
How long do candy canes stay fresh?

Polkagrisar are a hard candy and can stay fresh for several months if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. We recommend keeping them in their packaging until you’re ready to enjoy them.
Are your candy canes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free?

All of our polkagrisar are naturally gluten-free and made without gelatin or other animal products. Most flavors are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with the exception of those using the traditional red coloring (E120), which is not vegan-friendly.
