What is a polkagris (candy cane)?
A polkagris, often called a candy cane in English, is a traditional Swedish hard candy made from sugar, water, and natural peppermint oil. The classic version is red and white striped, but today many flavors and colors are enjoyed.
Are your candy canes handmade?
Yes, our polkagrisar are carefully crafted by hand, following traditional methods with some modern twists. This ensures each candy cane has the authentic texture, taste, and look that has made them famous since the 1800s.
How is it packaged?
Your order comes in a shipping box.Each cane is wrapped in 2 layers of different paper. Because we don’t coat our candy canes with glaze or coating, the food-safe inner paper sometimes sticks a little. This is normal and part of the traditional recipe, completely safe to eat.
How long do candy canes stay fresh?
Polkagrisar are a hard candy and can stay fresh for several months if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. We recommend keeping them in their packaging until you’re ready to enjoy them.
Are your candy canes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free?
All of our polkagrisar are naturally gluten-free and made without gelatin or other animal products. Most flavors are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with the exception of those using the traditional red coloring (E120), which is not vegan-friendly.
When will i receive my package?
We usually process and ship orders within 1–2 business days after payment. Delivery time within the EU is typically 4–10 business days, depending on the destination and local postal services.
